Manila!

I started with a 6am flight out of Adelaide bound for Sydney.

After an hour or two sitting in Sydney airport I began the 7.5 hour flight to Manila. I was fortunate enough to have a free seat next to me allowing me to spread out a bit and do some acrobatics to try and fit my 6 foot, 93kg frame lying in two seats. Needless to say I only achieved an hour or two of sleep!

One great encouragement today was the ability to sit and read my bible for hours on end. I very rarely get this opportunity. I opened the word and decided to read through some of the shorter letters of Paul. I was struck by this passage in Titus.

Titus 2:11-13

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,

I love the multi-faceted outworkings of the Grace of God.

  • It offers salvation to all people as it “appears.”
  • The grace of God actually teaches us and, if we have ears to hear and receive, allows us to live self-controlled lives.

I also love how Paul explains the “blessed hope”. The thing we long for and wait patiently for (Our Hope) is the appearing of the Glory, and of Jesus. As I ponder where Holy Spirit may allow me to to live out our vision to “Release the Glory of God” I realise that His Glory (ie The manifest presence of His Goodness) will become the blessed hope that people desire and need.

THIS IS SO GOOD!! What we carry will be the hope the world desires. LET’S GO!

Tomorrow I head across to Negros and I get to see Joyland!

Until then!

BLESSINGS (I was super encouraged my bags made it from Adelaide too!)

Just off the plane from Sydney

  1. Praise God for keeping you safe and sound! Watch out for pickpocketing! If someone asks to grab your luggage trying to “help” in the airport area, while waiting for a taxi or bus be aware that some of them expect you to pay them.
Praying that God will surround you with good honest people

  2. So good, the adventure has begun. Can’t wait to see your posts about Joyland. Hope you can catch some rest amongst the travelling.
