A Growing Love for Joyland!

I’ve been at Joyland now for 2 days. I am definitely growing in my love for the place. There is much to do in and around Joyland physically but also much to determine in when/what/how this place will be used for the Kingdom.

I have come to recognise that I love to find the solution. I look at a problem and my mind starts whirring trying to “work the problem”. I love to break it down into manageable steps and explore different avenues of achieving results. Here at Joyland I see opportunities and needs. But the needs are determined sometimes by the opportunity. In seeking the Lord, and identifying the opportunities that He wants to turn into reality, the needs are highlighted.

So what does that mean for right now? It means I continue to wait on the Lord and be in discussion with Suzette and the board. I have to intentionally hold back mentally from racing ahead. It’s also important for me, as the Senior Leader of Glorify, to balance my energy with what is needed for us as a whole community. We will be moving forward with our healing rooms in the upcoming months, we continue to build and expand our facilities with new upstairs Children’s rooms, and Ness and I have a responsibility to continue nurturing our flock.

This “adventure” is as much about me growing my heart for His mission and my purpose locally in Mt Barker as it is about growing it abroad here in the Philippines. I must keep all these in balance. I have LOVED the reflection time and the opportunity to devote myself 100% to what the Lord wants. It has been so refreshing to PREPARE in the waiting.

Today, I meet with the board of Joyland in Bacolod where I will be nominated to its membership. The plan is to discuss the current situation of Joyland and to talk through its future, both in the short and long term. After the board meeting today I’ll write up a further report and include that in my next blog post.

I’m working on a video interview with Suzette where we discuss Joyland and its future. I hope to get that up here in the next couple of days.

Here are some photos around Joyland.
